FISA legislation librarians should keep an eye on

I've learned a lot reading the LibraryLaw Blog. Mary Minow is an excellent translator of the legal to lay English, and she covers issues very comprehensively without ever being boring.

A good example is her recent post on the Congressional Research Service report on current FISA legislation of note to librarians:

good rundown on SAFE Act and other bills to restore privacy in library records

Mary has taken the time to gleen out of the .pdf of the report all the legislation she finds most pertinent to librarians, with a blurb about each one.

Librarians are just too cool. Thanx Mary.

If you take any of these bill numbers over to THOMAS (a favorite of many librarians), you can look up the full rundown on the bill, including who supports/sponsors it, and the status. To show your support or opposition to any legislation, especially if it's coming up for a vote, you can write your House representative using this handy form or your senator using this handy contact list.
