More hot Flickr

Take the Flickr API, add Flash, and mix with the genius minds at Airtight Interactive, and you get the sexy Flickr Related Tag Browser. It's a very visual image browsing toy that works a lot like kartOO, but for photos using the folksonomy/tagging methods constructed by Flickr.

When I first played with the toy, I actually didn't realize that, after you've done the search and you have your visual results, you can pull your cursor out to the side of the window and you'll see other related tags to click on. The related tag grouping looks very intelligent and well formulated, so it's really useful and fun at the same time.

With more people searching for images online that are actually legal to reuse (Metro Desk had a good post Friday highlighting an image source directory), and the Flickr Creative Commons license feature, this toy can actually make searching for images easier, and more intuitively visual, for users.

Yet another example of the growing importance of rich media searching, the fun of tagging, and cool technology.
