Bucks off at Borders Books

I'm sure everyone's heard about this by now, but just in case you haven't, this came in my work email yesterday:

Borders stores nationwide will honor local educators for their commitment to spreading knowledge and encouraging life-long learning during Educator Appreciation Week, Friday-Tuesday, October 14-18, with a special reception on Friday, October 14 from 4pm-8pm.

Borders extends its definition of educators to include librarians as we recognize the important role they play in supporting education in our communities. Thus, we want to extend the benefits of the Educator Appreciation Weekend to all of your colleagues including all library employees.

In recognition of the work you do, Borders Books, Music and Café will offer all library employees a 25% discount on books, music, and gift items and a 20% discount on DVDs. During the five-day event, these discounts will apply not only to library items but also to personal purchases.

When shopping, employees and retirees should bring proof of association, such as an ID, union or association card, a pay stub, or any other proof of employment at a library.

May we ask that you help publicize this event by forwarding this message on. To learn more details or to find a location near you please visit www.bordersstores.com/educator

I sincerely thank you for helping Borders underscore the very important role librarians play in the educational development of members of your community.
